By 1973, Fisher-Price had introduced two recreational vehicle playsets to the Little People Line: the #985 Houseboat and the #994 Camper. Both were rather similar being roughly the same size, sharing some of the same pieces, and being discontinued the same year. The two also got updates in 1979-1980. The houseboat became the #932 Ferry Boat. The camper became the #992 Pop-Up Camper a year later. Similar to the #938 Sesame Street and the #990 A-Frame, the ladder to this set is the hardest piece in the set to find.
Although the camper set was discontinued in the USA in 1976, it was still in production in other countries. It is in the 1978 German Fisher-Price Dealer's catalog and the 1979 Dutch Fisher-Price Dealer Catalogue.
